EST 2005

Well this week has been another fun one. Elizabeth had a two-week check up this week. She had to get her heal pricked so they could do a test on her blood. She was actually really good while they were doing it. She didn't cry much at all and after it was over she was back to her self. She is doing great and was only 10 days old when we went in and was already back at her birth weight. No surprise there, she's a little piggy. She's eating about every 3 to 3 1/2 hours and eats almost 4 oz at each feeding. Although I'm still a little disappointed that the breast-feeding didn't work out I'm glad I can still get her some breastmilk everyday. As long as she's getting some I don't care how. Plus it's nice because now James can help me out at night on those days when I'm just beyond exhausted. She makes the funniest faces and loves to keep looking around.
James is funny because he'll come home from work and want to wake her up to see her and play with her. And she's already changed so much. I can tell she's getting bigger and her personality is starting to develop a little. Her umbilical cord stump fell off yesterday and she has such a cute little belly button. It's just so fun to see all these things happening. It's still a little hard to believe she's actually here after waiting for 9 long months to see her. We're still doing tummy time too. I think she likes it, she's not fussy when we do it. I was laying her on the floor, but now I just lay her across my lap and let her look around and move her head for a few minutes. She's getting to be very good at holding her head up already. So she is moving right along.
I get to go in on Monday to my Doctor and have the tape on my incision removed and looked at. So I'm looking forward to that. I'm so excited too because I'm 7 pounds below what my prepregnancy weight was. So I've lost 7 extra pounds and I'm still at the point where I can't exercise.
