4th Of July

Here is Lizzie on Thursday when she had a fever spike after getting croup. Poor kid was not happy with me especially after have an almost cold bath to try and bring her fever down.

4th of July was fun, even though Lizzie and Clayton were both still sick. The kids, Mom, and I went to the 4th/Basque festival parade downtown. The kids did great at the parade even with not feel good. Lizzie especially loved it. Mom and I enjoyed it too. We both said it was nice to have someone to spend the day with since James was working.
Keeping hydrated.

We were across the street form the announcers booth. So most of the floats, cars, etc stopped in front of us. The basque dancers stopped to do a dance in front of us and Lizzie had to join in. This is here mid jump.

She was a little bummed when they started walking down the street again.
What is a parade without candy? Lizzie got a pretty good amount. And she was very good and didn't run into the street to get any.

Waiving as a car goes by

Our original plan was to take the kids to a sport field to watch the fireworks. Well Clayton got his own fever that night so we decided to stay at home and watch what fireworks we could see from the deck. Lizzie was so excited. She was jumping around, running inside, she just couldn't sit still.

She loved the fireworks and was not scared one bit. She kept running around even after they started to go off. And then at one point she ran into my parents room and asked Grandpa what he was watching. He said he was watching the fireworks, so then she goes, "What are you watching on tv Grandpa." And then she ran in to check. She was seriously hilarious that night. This was Lizzie's first time seeing fireworks, and it was James and I's first time seeing them together.
