Preschool!

Monday was Lizzie's first day of preschool. She was so excited to go too. She doesn't have it until the afternoon, so all morning she kept asking if it was time to leave yet. She even let me do her hair without complaint! She absolutely loves it, and I really am enjoying quieter afternoons. I'm very glad that the staff at the preschool encouraged me to put her in the 4 year old class rather than the 3 year old class. They are all evaluated before school starts and her teacher told me that she tested at the level that most kids test out of at the end of the year. So even though she'll be the youngest in her class she's got a bit of a head start! Here she is getting ready to go her first day.

Her new backpack. I really wanted her to get a cute "girly" one but she really wanted this Mickey one.

She was ready to leave for her 2nd day and asked why I wasn't taking her picture. Hopefully she doesn't ask everyday.

Haircut!

Yes, after I put Analyn's hair up in cute pig tails I went and cut it off! She had SO much hair on her head though. One day I noticed that on the side of her head the hair is a LOT shorter than on the top. So this was to make it grow out a little more evenly. Here she is for her "before" shot. I love her deer in headlights look.

At this point she's looking at James with her, "what is Mommy doing?" look. Luckily she was her usual mellow self and did not cry once.

Inspecting my handy work. I would have loved to have taken her to the lady that cuts my hair, but with James working 6 days a week and school now I though for the amount of hair I was cutting that one at home would work for now.

And her "after" picture. It looks a lot better now that it's a more uniformed length. Don't worry though it's not really short. And I love that her eyes stand out a little bit more now that it's shorter in the front.

This Little Piggy...

Well Analyn has SO much hair I never know what to do with it. So we started pulling it up every once in a while so she had like an onion top. Well since she had so much hair I decided that pigtails would probably work. They did and of course she looked adorable. That kid is so stinking cute!

Swimming and a Party!

One day after Kris and her kids were back everyone decided to go to the swimming pool. They invited Lizzie to go enjoy in the fun while I stayed home with the baby and Clay (who was already down for a nap). Lizzie had a lot of fun I was told.

Kris threw a birthday party for one of her girls while they were here too. The kids of course enjoyed the opportunity to go to another birthday party. Analyn loved the time outside too.

The party was at Kris's in-laws house. They have all kinds of fun things for the kids to play with. Including a pool. I prepared myself for an evening of running after Clay to keep him from getting in the water. I was really glad to have Garrett and Kirkland (Holly's boys) around that night because they helped me out a lot. Garrett pretty much chased after Clay the whole time, and volunteered to do it. Believe me it was nice to be able to focus on conversation a little more than normal. Holly also introduced my kids to the trampoline. Liz and Clay both loved it of course.

Clay would get a little scared at first when people would jump. Kirkland tried to help by picking him up, but Clay would just yell, "Help me!"

Analyn just hung around with anyone that night.

Candy time. Garrett took Clay over to pick up some candy before it was all gone. My kids had to be coaxed to go get any.

More Visitors

While Kristine and her family were at the reunion, Holly and her boys got into Elko. The kids enjoyed having more cousins around to play with. Here are the kids after playing ring-around-the-rosy.

And then they started a new round.

Everyone loved Analyn...can you blame them though?

Clay just loved Kristine's dogs too. It made me smile that he enjoyed them so much, but it made me sad because we will never be having pets. The allergies are not worth it. It's fun to have some visit though.

Garrett and Kirkland were really good sports playing with the kids too. That made Clay and Lizzie warm up to them even faster. Clayton had to try out Lizzie's "Littlest Pet Shop" toys.

Idaho Trip

We had a lot of family visit over the course of the pass few weeks. Kris and her kids were here first. They were headed on their way to a Crouch family reunion and were going to go through Idaho. So Mom, the kids and I tagged along. It was fun to be back at my Grandma's house. I haven't been there for about as long as James and I have been together. And I hadn't seen my Grandma and most of my aunts and uncles since my wedding and when Lizzie was blessed. We got to visit with lots of family. My niece Ava was dead set on petting a cow for her birthday too. So we were able to visit a farm so all the kids could see the animals. Lizzie wouldn't go near any of them. Clay was a little more brave though.

I helped Clay get up and personal with the cow. He laughed so much.

I wish we could have a cat! I love cats, and the kids do too. Clay was loving this little kitty and was very upset with me when I told him we had to leave it there. Oh if only James wasn't highly allergic to cats.

We stopped at a Dollar Tree and got some toys for the kids to entertain themselves with.
