Swimming Lessons

Elizabeth started swimming lessons on Monday.  She has really enjoyed them so far now that we are halfway done with them.  She was really excited to go swimming at a real pool.

She was a little nervous while we waited for them to start.  I am a little annoyed everyday because they never start them on time.  And they always end 5 to 10 minutes early.  When all the kids were there they sorted them by how well they could swim.  Elizabeth of course just put her hands out to the first girl in the pool and was taken to the beginners group.  They have these little platforms they stood on while they sorted everyone.  Elizabeth lost her footing and went into the pool and started to panic and I had to yell 3 times to get someone's attention to help her out.  After that though she was fine and having lots of fun.

Compared to the first day where she panicked when she fell off the platform she is now comfortable to swim around a little bit next to it.

She is also becoming a little more brave about doing new things.  She will actually jump into the pool towards her teacher now rather than bend over until she is holding her hands.  We have had an even busier week too because I started Elizabeth in piano lessons too.  She loved it and caught on really fast.  In fact she was very disappointed that she didn't have piano everyday.

Summer Fun

Summer has been super busy lately.  Luckily now that Girls Camp is done things are going to calm down for me considerable.  I had fun at Girls Camp though, even if I'm not a camper those girls are fun to be around.  The kids had a blast with James and Grandma Fabrizio.  I think having her here really entertained the kids while I was gone.  Analyn even was excited to see me.  I was glad that she wasn't giving me the silent treatment though.

Yesterday Clay had his first day of school for his summer session.  He was so excited (and learning from past experiences I didn't tell him about it until that morning so he would actually go to sleep).  We had driven down to the school it would be at so that he knew it would be somewhere different.  He couldn't wait to leave to go wait for his bus.
Analyn is a camera hog.  Anytime I'm taking pictures she has to interject herself into the pictures somehow.  Luckily Liz and Clay both like Analyn a lot and want her to be in the pictures with them.
Now we get to look forward to swimming lessons, piano lessons (hopefully), and vacation time.  I'm sure the summer will be over before I know it, but at the same time I can't wait for the kids to have a little more structure because of school.

Spring Program

The week before school got out Elizabeth's Kindergarten class put on a spring program like the one they did at Christmas time.  We asked Liz who she wanted to come and she picked me and my parents.  James stayed home with the kids (the program is during nap time, which is not worth interrupting).  We all thought it was really cute.  My Dad was laughing about it for a couple of days afterwards because the kids are all pretty outgoing.  I was proud of Elizabeth who remembered her dance moves and the lyrics.  And she was one of the loudest ones up there.  After the program the kids went to sit with their families and Elizabeth's teacher played a video with pictures and clips of the kids telling what they wanted to be when they grew up.  Elizabeth said, "I want to be a Mommy like my Mommy because I love her."  It also showed the picture that went with that recording with Elizabeth and TEN kids!  LOL.  I got some adorable video to go with the pictures.  I am hoping after Girls Camp is all over I will have time to post some of them.  Right now I hardly have any spare time to do much.

While the kids were changing costumes they did little intermissions with the kids all telling a joke.  Lizzie's was, "What do you call a dancing sheep?  A Baahhhlerina"
