Our Vacation, Family Reunion, and the Baby Blessing!

Elizabeth Halloween Outfit... only 97 cents...sweet!

Well James and I got to enjoy his first paid vacation. It was great! We spent about half of it in Elko. That way my parents got to see Elizabeth a little more, plus we got to show her off to our friends there and of course at church. While there we just relaxed and had fun letting grandma and grandpa hold Elizabeth. She's growing so much. We decided to weight her at Albertsons so Dad just placed her on the scale at the butcher block. She was only 5 1/2 weeks and she weighed 10.90lbs. So by now she's probably about 12 lbs. I couldn't believe how big she is, but she eats enough. Soon she'll be into some of her 3 to 6 month cloths. She's also about 22 inches long now. I can't wait until we go in for her 2 month checkup to see where she's at by that point. Elizabeth did great on the drive also. She wasn't fussy at all.
She also got to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Fabrizio, Mike, Tiffany, Rhiannon, and Shawn. I was glad that they had the opportunity to spend some time with her. And hopefully we'll get to see them soon. Elizabeth has been rolling over from her stomach to her back since 3 1/2 weeks. So far the total is only 4 times, but that's still pretty impressive for a 6 week old baby. Anyways the family was in town for a reunion and wedding. We went to a corn maze for the reunion. And Elizabeth was great and slept the entire time. It was really warm out too which helped a lot. Elizabeth didn't mind being passed around all weekend either. As long as we kept her in a clean diaper and fed her on time she didn't mind at all.
We also blessed her during the family reunion. It was a lot of fun having so many members of our family to be there to support us and Elizabeth. There were still a lot of family missing and we just wanted you all to know that we missed you. The blessing went well though. I was very emotional listening to James bless Elizabeth, but it made me so happy. Well I have to cut this off for now, I have a hungry baby to feed.

TOUCHDOWN!!

Elizabeth keeps on growing. She's so much fun to watch and be around. I love when she is awake just because she has the prettiest eyes. I can't wait to see what color they go to. I think they are getting lighter so I'm hoping she'll have blue or green eyes. James is hoping for brown. She's figured out how to grab onto things. So far her favorite things to grab so far are fingers, the railing on her changing table, and James' chest hair. She's also figured out how to take out her pacifier. So now she'll suck on it and pull it out on purpose if she wants attention. I think it's a game she's come up with. She usually does it when I'm trying to do something around the apartment. So far we haven't taken her out much. We're still waiting to do that until she's a little older. But this will be her first week at church, but we only plan on going to sacrament meeting. But the next week we'll be visiting my parents so she'll be seeing a lot of people and then we have the family reunion on James' side and her baby blessing. So she's going to be out a lot in that week.

As you can see from the pictures she's getting stronger everyday. She loves when we hold her so she can look around and over our shoulders. We have two BYU pillows on top of our couch and she loves to stare at them because of the color contrast. James and I are impressed that she is already holding her head up when she's on her tummy. And she's getting pretty good at pushing her body up a little too. And when she pushes her head up she can hold it there for a few minutes. So we think that's great. James and I started to read to her. I wanted to start reading her Matilda but James started reading her Harry Potter. Oh well, at least we're reading to her.

She's still eating about every 3 to 3 1/2 hours. Hopefully she'll start sleeping a little longer at night. I guess I can't complain too much though because she usually sleeps until about 10 or 11. As for James and I we are doing great. Motherhood definitely agrees with me, and I love being able to be at home with Elizabeth. I find it very fullfilling and couldn't imagine doing anything else right now. James loves being a dad and I can tell he's very proud. James has abandoned calling her ELF. He calls her sweetpea which I think is so cute, and I think it fits her more than ELF would. And my face is almost working again. The Bell's Palsy is almost completely gone, I still don't have full check and lip muscle movement but my face moves again. So hopefully it will be gone completely soon. At this point I still can't drive, or exercise, or lift anything other than Elizabeth, so I'm looking forward to my next DR appointment so that I can do a little more. That's it for now.
