Easter was interesting. The kids stayed in bed until 6:15 so that was nice that they didn't try to get up too early. I think the Easter Bunny needs to come while we are at church though so we don't have to go through the craziness of baskets and treats before church. The kids were thrilled with the little goodies and gift that were left for them though.
One good thing that came from the early wake up call was that we were all ready for church in record time. Although James and I are never ones to be late, we always manage to have the kids ready and to church, school, etc early. But it was extra nice to enjoy an even more relaxed morning because we had extra time to bathe and dress the kids. The girls looked especially adorable in their Easter dresses. I was just jazzed that I found dresses with sleeves on them. Elizabeth has same dress as Analyn but chose to wear her purple dress for Easter.
Clay unfortunately was having an off morning that day. He isn't too fond of pictures on his best day, but heaven forbid he cooperates. This is such a daily occurrence that we are use to it though. It's hard to stay neutral as his teacher has suggested since that is how they are dealing with it at school.
I did manage to get a picture of him eventually though. Analyn had just got her picture taken professionally so Clay was upset his picture on the wall was so old. So now he will have a new picture on the wall and I will get one of him smiling...win, win if you ask me.
After church we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa house for dinner. Grandma bought the kids some stuff for Easter too and so the kids enjoyed more presents and playing. Analyn collected all the balls that Grandma had bought them and proceeded to pull them around in a sled. It was very cute.
Elizabeth got a jewelry box that came with stickers to decorate it. That entertained her for a few hours, but ultimately I am the one who was left to finish it (which is why it is still sitting on top of the fridge..).
I brought some eggs to hide for an egg hunt. The kids had a ball and thought it was great. I filled the eggs with money so Analyn didn't know what to think about the prize on the inside. But Clay and Lizzie who love to put money in their piggy banks thought it was awesome.
The next weekend Analyn and I went up to Idaho to go attend my Grandma's 90th birthday party. Analyn was awesome the whole time (we have been blessed with 3 kids that travel amazingly well). It was an up and back trip so it was a long day, but it was nice to see family that I haven't had a chance to see for a long time. Analyn was a hit too with everyone, they all though she was adorable and then of course she would get all shy and turn into my shoulder which made her look even cuter!
Out of all my kids, Analyn has the most stranger anxiety. So with all the new faces around she was especially needy and would only go to myself, Grandma or Grandpa consistently.
This is the first time that all my siblings have been together since James and I got married (which was 7 years the day after the party). Of course family pictures followed. It was a fun little reunion for all of us though.
