Presents, and and Update on Elizabeth and the Pregnancy

Elizabeth ended up being sick on her birthday, so it's probably a good thing we weren't planning on celebrating that day. Poor thing just barely got rid of whatever she had today. All I can say is I'm glad I don't have to wash her sheets everyday. Anyways. We did her presents on Wednesday the 19th. She had her 1 year check up that day and got 5 shots so we though we would do something that should we think was fun. Elizabeth has certainly grown. She weighed in at 20.5 lbs (although the doctor said she could have lost a little weight from being sick), and she is 29 inches tall. She was curious about the presents but didn't really get the paper, she would just get excited when she saw what was underneath the paper. I think her favorite present from us was the babydoll. As soon as she got it she hugged it and gave it kisses, so cute! She keeps learning new words and signs that I'm starting to loose track. She now says apple, mine, and started saying bye bye today. She also is starting to sign clean.
I had my 27 week appointment on Thursday too. I had to do my 1 hour glucose tolerance test and I failed it...geez. So I went in the next morning to do the 3 hour test and I passed, so I didn't get gestational diabetes. I gained 3 more pounds, so I'm at 9 total. Dr. Twede is estimating Clayton at around 2 1/2 pounds right now. He sure is an active baby that's for sure. And Clayton's heartbeat is good too. So my next appointment is in 3 weeks at 30 weeks and then I go every 2 weeks. I can't believe I'm at that point already. We also asked about the c-section and were told we could pick any date between December 10 and 14. I'm pretty sure we're going to go with the 10th, but still not sure yet. Still that means I only have 11 weeks at the most left! CRAZY. That's all from our end. Enjoy all the pictures.

This is Elizabeth signing "love"

Birthday Cake

Well we decided to do Elizabeth's cake on my birthday since James wasn't off for Elizabeth's birthday. I made the cake and decorated it, it was fun too. And a lot cheaper than buying a cake anywhere else. Elizabeth really liked the candle bit and us singing to her. Didn't know what to think of the cake, and even after she had had a few tastes of the frosting she never really "dove" in. I was a little disappointed because I was hoping that the cake would be all over her, but nope she was pretty clean about it.
Elizabeth's personal cake...I just used the pieces I cut out of the large one

Trying out the frosting first...

Cake Cleanup

We decided to document the cleaning up of the cake mess (even though it wasn't that big of a mess). Elizabeth of course loved it, but she's a big bath person.

What we're up to

25 Weeks 4 Days

Well just to update everyone, we've decided to not buy the house in Ogden. To make a very long story short, nothing was working out so we took that as a sign that we weren't suppose to go up to Ogden. We're bummed, but not so much. I'm mostly disappointment about having an actual nursery, but oh well. The kids will have to share a room, big deal. So now we'll be staying here for another 18 months for sure and will be looking into getting a storage shed since we'll need all of the closet in Elizabeth's room and half of it is taken up by holiday decor and other stuff. So that's what's happening with us.
Elizabeth will be a year old on Sunday. I still can't believe it, it went so fast. We've really enjoyed her though. She has the cutest personality. All she does now is walk, I hardly ever see her crawling anymore. Now I really have to baby proof the apartment since I hadn't because we might move. Elizabeth is already taking only 1 nap a day. It sucks!!! Her naps are usually when I got a little me time, or took a nap, or got some housework done. Not anymore. So now she takes around a 2 hour nap, and goes to bed between 8pm and 10pm. It's nice though because James and i get a little more time to ourselves, so we get to play board games more or watch a movie most nights. She can say a few words now: mom, dad, yeah, baby, book, and duck. I'm pretty sure those are all the words she says right, but I could have forgotten a few. She's really picking up on the sign language from her Signing Time videos too. She can sign bear, please, yes, more, love, baby, and she's working on thank you. It's so cute when she signs love, she won't stop doing it until you tell her you love her too. So cute! Oh I think she's trying to say Clay too. She likes to mimic so I won't be surprised if she doesn't learn that fast. She has to be able to get to my tummy now. She loves to pat it and kiss it, and I'll ask her where her baby brother is a lot and she'll go over and pat my tummy and I tell her yep that's where Clay is (I think around her we'll be calling him Clay more than Clayton until she gets better at talking). She has to go everywhere and explore, so church is a real adventure. I don't know what to do sometimes because I don't want to let her wander around the room during classes, but I can't get her to sit on my lap either... it's frustrating!
James likes the new store he's at and I'm sure he likes being promoted. I'm a little bummed that he wasn't able to get Elizabeth's birthday off, so we're going to wait and celebrate on my birthday. James wanted to have a few people over, but now it will be just us, since we keep having to change the date, and I would rather keep it simple. I'm doing good with the pregnancy. I get to go take my glucose tolerance test in about a week. Hopefully I'll pass the first time if I don't have it because I really don't want to have to go and take the 3 hour test again. Other than that nothing really new to report. I feel like I'm showing a lot more with Clayton than I did with Elizabeth, but I think I'm also carrying higher. Oh well I won't complain since I haven't gained too much weight yet. I still can't believe that we have only 3 more months left! I just can't wait until my Doctor gives me a concrete date for the c-section. I'm hoping for Dec 7th (Friday so I'd be in the hospital on the weekend), but if he'll only go a week early it will be Dec 11th. I just want to know when! So probably on the 23 I'll post pics of Elizabeth and her cake and presents.
