The last week of school was crazy. Elizabeth had 2 field trips and a field day. She got to walk to a park on day, and the library another. The library field trip resulted in her convincing us to let her get her own library card. Field day was open to all the parents and family members to come watch. So James and I went to watch Lizzie during it. I love Elizabeth, but she is not a sports person. She had a blast though, so much so that she was start giggling and not be able to finish because she was laughing so hard.
In all of the field day activities she is giggling. I'm surprised she finished anything at all. I love going to the school too, you would be surprised how many of MY old teachers are still there. Field day only lasted an hour and a half, which was good because it was hot.
Clay's last day of school was on Thursday. That day he wasn't even going to school. Instead we were meeting at a park to play for an hour with his classmates. This is him all ready for his last day.

He had to have his buddy in his picture too. These two get along really well.
The kids had fun at the party. I was bummed Clay's main teacher wasn't there because of an emergency. That women is amazing to me! I was glad we went, it lent some perspective for me. Some of his friends had worst things in life to deal with. At least Clay is healthy. Yes, sometimes I really don't know what to do or feel like I am failing big time, but it could be worst.
Clay starts up school again here in a week too so he doesn't get much of a break. He's excited to go into Kindergarten. And it's good to know who his teacher is already and that he will be in a morning class.

Elizabeth on her last day of school.
The last day of school has an assembly where awards are handed out. Lizzie came home from school with a medal on. She was given the "Accelerated Reader Award" for the entire 1st grade. This kid loves to read and she was always rushing through her work to read and pass off more books in class. This pass year she read 252 books (a lot of those were chapter books too). She was so proud of herself and we are proud of her too!
