Swimming!

Well personally I was really enjoying all the rain we got. Especially since it was keeping the house cool since the a/c is still broken. But now that the weather is nice we were able to break in the pool for the kids. They loved it of course. Even with the cold water. Clayton would sit and play for a while and then get out and run around on the grass and then come back in. Lizzi stayed in the pool the whole time. It's nice that we were able to get a pool so cheap for them because they are both too small to go to the city pool, so this will be a nice substitute for a while.

Family Fun

Last Monday James and I were both off, so we decided to take the kids to the park for Family Home Evening. The kids had a blast, they love being outside and all the new toys to climb all over made it a real treat for them. We didn't get to stay very long though because dinner took longer than we planned. But the kids had fun in the time we were there. We also were able to go to Dairy Queen for some treats after. Lizzi was hilarious in line. She turned around and told a lady that she was getting an ice cream cone and she couldn't wait anymore. The ice cream was a nice change, especially since our Dairy Queen is only open from April to October (I think, but you get the idea).

Yes he is climbing UP the slide, he likes to do that, and I'm surprised he actually can.

This was taken right before Lizzi fell off. She was fine, and it made me glad that my kids don't freak out over falling down and things like that.

Happy Father's Day!

Just wanted to wish all the Dad's out there Happy Father's Day, especially all the ones I've been able to have in my life.

So far James Father's Day has not gone as planned. I was going to let him sleep in, but have finally got this cold or whatever it is full on, so he let me sleep in. I made him an apple crisp last night instead of deep dish apple pie (I chose the less time consuming one since I felt horrible yesterday too). I managed to keep present simple this time, since we are working very hard to save up for a house. While in Vegas during Memorial Day weekend I found some movies I knew James would love and they were very inexpensive (surprise!) and then the kids got him a new Cribbage set (card game). And when I asked him what he would like for dinner for Father's Day he's said he wanted frozen pizza (works for me).

Let me gush about my sweet husband really quick. He's an amazing Dad, and fantastic husband. I'm reminded regularly by my parents how lucky I am to have James because he helps me out so much with everything! He's given me two of the most beautiful children, with the cutest personalities, and the sweetest spirits. I was very blessed to find such a wonderful man to marry and be the father of my children! Love you honey!

Flashback

Oh my little guy when he was still small. When we were still doing tests and getting his tubes the Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor ordered an EKG for Clayton. This and the MRI he had done where just precautionary to make sure his hearing lose was the only thing they could find that wasn't functioning the way it should. Well his EKG came out fine, and I finally was able to get this picture off my phone on onto a computer. I think this is from March 2008.

Gardening

My Mom loves to garden, but this activity is not a favorite of mine (mostly because I'm not an outdoors person, and I hate to get dirty). Lizzi of course will offer to help with anything. So a few weeks ago Mom brought home some flowers and Lizzi wanted to help. Lizzi thought pulling the top off one of the plants would help a lot, and of course she liked to literally try to bury the poor flowers once they were in the ground. They all had fun though and Clay enjoyed just running around the backyard.

This is here trying to put more dirt on top of the flower.

And of course another example that makes me wonder why we even buy toys for the kids... because they love things that aren't meant to be played with really. Right now the kids LOVE laundry baskets. I can find Lizzi, Clay or both in a laundry basket everyday! But for some reason they love it.

Memorial Day Weekend

The kids, my parents, and I left Thursday before Memorial Day weekend to go down to Vegas. The kids did awesome on the drive, even with Grandpa in the back of the car with them for the first part of the trip (we switched at Ely). It wasn't that bad of a drive until we hit the stop and go traffic by the strip. That was horrible, especially since the kids where ready to get out of the car. The kids found lots of ways to entertain themselves, here they are reading books.

We went down to Vegas because my niece, Emma, was getting baptized on Saturday. Dad also had been asked to help umpire the State Softball tournament. So Friday Mom, the kids, and I went to watch him. The kids where pretty good for 4 hours of sitting around while grandpa umpired. We got some flavored shaved ice to help beat the heat, and the kids thought that those where awesome.

Clayton and Elizabeth also enjoyed the dogs. I'm glad that they like dogs and are not scared of them. Clayton always was in their water and he was very interested in the doggy door.

He did actually get out by using the doggy door, he finally turned around and went head first rather than feet first.

We got to enjoy some shopping while we were there. I was able to get Clayton some pajamas from Kohl's, I even got him a pair of pajamas for $2.13! Mom, Ava, the kids and I also went to Krispy Kreme while we were there. Since they closed the ones in SLC and Reno we hardly ever go anywhere with one. And they sounded SO good. Once you've had a fresh donut they aren't as good cold. The kids all had fun watching them being made from the glass window. But they really enjoyed eating them. I had the fresh glazed. The kids of course had to have ones with sprinkles.

We sure had a lot of fun, but the kids and I were very excited to get back to Elko and back to James. It was definitely a busy month.

Tahoe Part 5: Happy Birthday James!

James turned 28 while we were in Tahoe! We had a fun time celebrating his birthday too! Lizzi found her present for him when we hit Dollar Tree. She wanted to get James a giant birthday hat. And James was a good sport and actually wore it.

James opening some presents. He had 3 helpers to get those presents open.

All the kids thought the hat was a hit too.

James' sister was nice enough to make James a birthday cake for our little celebration. We had lots of fun celebrating James birthday with his family! And of course James blew the candles out too fast for me to get a picture of him.
