Spring Break

The kids had spring break this week. I think it's silly that the college doesn't coordinate their spring break with the school district here since high school student take classes too. I decided we needed to do something fun with the kids. It was hard to plan anything though since James had class on Monday and Wednesday, and I have Young Women on Thursdays. So it didn't give us a very open window at all. We decided to take a very quick trip into Salt Lake and take the kids to the zoo and get in a visit to the dentist too. The kids were so excited about it. They were up and ready to go and knocking at our door at 6am. We got into Salt Lake around noon and man it was busy. Here are the girls waiting for me to get the tickets.

Once I had the tickets Clay sat down in the middle of the sidewalk, started crying and saying he didn't want to go to the zoo. This is something I deal with daily because of his problems with transitions and changing his routine. We finally were able to get him to go in though and he eventually warmed up a little bit.

We brought in our own lunch. Once the kids ate they seemed to enjoy everything a little bit more.

Analyn and Clay wanted to get in the fence to see the animal up close.

We all had a lot of fun. The kids got a little tired after an hour though from waking up so early. Analyn had never been to the zoo so she was really interested in seeing the animals up close. Elizabeth was really interested in the map! Even though it was a really short trip for us, it was still fun though. I'm sure the kids will want to go back again soon, and maybe then they will have the parts that were under construction done so we can see them.
